Warcraft Realm Status Block

This is something that I've had working in the past on previous sites but recently I had to build it up all over again using the new Battle.net API. To be honest I was a bit intimidated by this. You see I am not exactly the worlds greatest expert on javascript, jquery, and json. My scripting language knowledge base is very limited in that regard. Nevertheless I did finally figure out how to build it and I am making this post as both a reminder for myself (and to other people who may stumble along) so I don't forget how to do it.

Bonis-guild.com

This is a website that I built for one of my guilds on World of Warcraft. It's a simple site based on my KLv4 theme.

Personally I have a bone to pick when it comes to guild websites. Most people use guild website services like Guildportal or Guildlaunch. The problems with using those sites is that they are ugly, have more functionality than most people need, and are a pain to operate. They really do suck. That is why I built this site, to try and showcase what a guild website SHOULD look like.

IOTA Theme

I have been making a lot of these themes lately. Mostly it is just me catching up with old projects that I had put on hold in the past. This is another one of those projects. The International Occultation Timing Association (IOTA) is an astronomy association whose website is managed by a family friend. Their old site looked like something out of a bad 1990's Hollywood film. It was a pain to navigate around and it was updated using Frontpage and MS Word. Of course I shouldn't be surprised. Many people don't know that astronomy types tend to use old reliable technology, not the most up to date technology (example: NASA still uses slide rules on occasion).

Coach & Player Magazine Theme

This layout isn't so much something I would make for a full production website but is more like a proof of concept. I knew some people at Coach & Player Magazine and they were looking at a redesign of their website so in my spare time I whipped this together to think of ideas for their website. My overall theme was to make it look clean and modern while maintaining functionality on a wide variety of platforms.

Keep in mind, this isn't a complete design, just the front page. It is also missing a lot of elements which is fine for a proof of concept. If they every get back with me and want something done I can always go back to this and show them what I thought up of.

Coldsolutions Theme

The ColdSolutions theme is something that I've had on the back burner for about 8 months now. It's from a job that fell through thus I never got to complete it. It's been siting in my projects folder for a while now staring at me saying "Please finish me, pretty please!" with big puppy eyes.

So I decided I go ahead and finish the page layout and publish it here as an example of my work. In the process I learned a few things in developing it that also helped with my KLv4 theme.

Kemralight.com Theme 4th Revision

Well this theme update has been long overdue. While it may appear to be identical to my previous 3rd revision a lot of changes have been made internally that will make this theme the most flexible and dynamic theme that I've built yet. I cleaned up a lot of the code, made some updates to the main navigation to keep with the current parallax trend in web design, and in the process learned a lot of new tricks that I plan on sharing here.
